The collection has got several groups which involve the pictures of
different European Art schools. The most significant part of the collection
is Italian Art.
The exposition starts with the work
which is rear for a regional collection. It belongs to unknown Italian
artist of the second half of 14th century - ‘Madonna with the Infant’
- it refers to the period of Earl Renaissance. High Italian Renaissance
is represented by the picture ‘The Holy Colloquy’ by Polidoro Lanzani
(1515-1565) from Venice, who was grown under the influence
of Titian. The basic part of the collection consists of Italian
paint works of 17th century, which came from different Art centres
- Sienna, Naples, Venice, Bologna. The most meaningful work from the
row belongs to the artist from Sienna Rutittio Manetti (1571-1639)
Pokloneniye Volhvov. Besides, this part of the collection involves
the pictures by Sebastiano Ricci (1659-1734), Luca
Jordano (1632-1705), Allessandro Tiarini (1577-1668),
etc.
The second part of the collection introduces
the paintings from Flanders of 17th century the golden age of Flender’s
school - Gaspard de Crayer (1584-1669), F. Francken
(1581-1642), Yan Villdence (1585-1653),
etc. Dutch Art includes the works by Hendric van Vlit
(1611-1675), Clas Piters Berhem (1620-1683),
Cornelis van Pulenburg (1586-1667). These
works and names make the collection of the museum noticeable and popular
with the visitors. |
